Community Speaking Events

When it comes to deciding on which speaking events I will go see... it really is up in the air. It also really just depends on who I can find giving a speech here in Kearney or even in the area! I also might look around on the T.V. to see if there are any speakers on there that might interest me, maybe thats not even an option! I better check! When I first thought about going to find four speakers in the community I thought it was going to be very hard but after talking to Brent he made me realize that there really are a lot more oportunites for me to find someone to listen to then I thought! Some examples he gave were church services, speeches given at the state speech convention here in Kearney for high schoolers even sitting in on a case at the court house. Hopefully we fill find a couple more before my baby is born!!! lol Wish me luck!!!

Where to start? Well first of all, my name is Heather Hughes, I am 19 years old and I am from Scotia NE. I attended North Loup Scotia High School and was very active in sports there. After I graduated I attened UNL in the fall and transfered to Kearney this last semester and am now attending classes here this spring semester just to take it a little easier because I am only a half time student! I bet you are asking yourself why I transfered so much and the answer to that is... well- I am pregnant and due in March! I have family that live here in Kearney and Scotia really isn't too far from here!!! Also Kearney is where my boyfriend grew up so his family lives here also and I just knew that this semester being here in Kearney was the better place for me... having family in my life right now is a very big must because I am due in March! Which really isn't that far away!!!... Well I should probably get going... but if anyone has any questions for me don't be afraid to ask! I look forward to our future conversations ;) !!!
